Anyone else augment an AGA stand?

I just saw the photos ACE posted today of his standard AGA stand that he jazzed up with some trim, handles and stain. I am so impressed with how that improves the look of the stand. Has anyone else done anything similar? I'd love to get more ideas before I get to work on mine!

I just finished installing an AGA 155 BowFront. The stand looks to be just fine for the weight. According to the paperwork the 155 BF is 1800 lbs full and 257 empty.

It does not sway or creek or anything. I am pleased.

It is the black painted pine I believe.
