what is the minimum amount of light required to grow halimeda? would a 32W in a 15 gal cut it?

Yes it will but it will turn a very dark green and grow slowly. It also needs calcium at about 400 ppm.

I agree with Kevin, it will grow much faster with more lighting and stable calcium, pH and KH. In fact, I use Halimeda growth to help gauge my calcium and alkalinity levels.

I grow it in my fuge under 2X20 watt NO plant bulbs along with other macros. It seems to grow pretty well. I'm not sure why I have it in my fuge, it competes for calcium.
