My fiji rock finished curing about 10 days ago now water condition is improving. I notice a fan-shaped (Flat, about an inch long) kind of pale green/yellow/tan what looked like a GUPPIES tail sticking out of rock. Today, i notice 3 smaller CLUSTERS of this same kind of thing on same rock. I pulled on the larger one, and it seems to be stuck to the rock. it is not a fish. It is flat and flares out wide like a delta tail guppy. Will get pic up when water is clearer. (yellowish water) :rolleye1:

You can run some carbon to help polish your water and to rid the yellowish tint. Not sure on the description you gave but my guess would be some kind of mushroom.

I have seen halimeda its not that small. Its not that nice green. This looks like a "gingko biloba" leaf if you have seen those. It sticks up out of the rock its not a shroom those lay flat against. The carbon is a good idea- guess i will have to take the old fluval out of storage once again!

There is a macro, but I'm not sure if it's a Caulerpa that resembles what you're talking about. I'll see if I can find the pic of it. It resembles very much a fan, or the tail you're talking about.

Here's a good start. Do another search using this name and see if it looks like what you've got.

Wow that really could be it. It is yellower, but perhaps when water clears up it may color in. I will post a pic in a couple of days.

As the site mentions, it's related to the halimeda family, so it uses calcium. I would figure the more calcium your tank has, the better coloring it would have. Also lighting comes into play with these macros as far as coloring is concerned. So maybe once it acclimates, and your water clears up, it will turn more green????

You're in for a treat! Watching all the life that going to evolve on your rock, you ain't seen nothing yet!! Enjoy! A quality protien skimmer will help clear/clean the water. With all the crap my skimmer pulls out, I couldn't imagine not having it! It's a Remora Pro by Aqua-C, FYI.
