Does anyone know when the best time for corals to feed, and what the best thing to feed them is?? The corals that I'm most interested in are goniopora and aleopora. I have heard a lot of different things, and hope that someone can share a positive goniopora experience with me. Peace.

I usually feed mine later on in the day, maybe right after the lights go out. It seems to me that they usually put out sweeper tentacles and such at night, so thats a logical time to feed them. Also, it seems that if they are both heterotrophic and autotrophic, they would use different surfaces for the two functions. This means that in the day, when the light is on, the photosynthetic cells would be exposed to the water, and when the lights are out the eating cells would be out.

I do, however, feed sometimes in the day, but usually only after I have fed the fish, so the scent of food is in the water. This way, they open up and put out tentacles and eat better.

I target feed solid foods at any time.

I add DT phytoplankton at dawn and dusk.
