Hello all. My Rio 1700 powerheads are crapping out on me and I was wondering about a good replacement for the two that I have now.
Thanks All,

Rio's are not good pumps.
I would go with Maxi-Jets, they are some of the most commonly used power heads.

Most online stores have them. They are pretty good prices as well, check out www.MarineDepot.com.

What size Maxijets for my 90 gallon all-glass? I would like to use them on opposite ends of the tank.
Thanks for the quick reply,

I ll second that. Rios are horrible pumps, Maxijets are well made and reliable. If you have some extra money i would go for the incredible 'turbelles streams' by Tunze.

Hey, no problem!
It depends on what corals you're keeping and plan on keeping. I'd personnaly go with 2 - Maxi-Jet Powerhead 1200 as those will provide a nice sufficant flow.

I use the hagen 802? I believe thats the model, it turns over about 400gph so its the only one I have on my 55 gallon tank. I've heard of these ocillating powerheads, does anyone know anything about them?

Hmmmm,
Guess I went a bit overkill with them, I have 4 1200's in my 75. :D
IMHO- You just cant beat MJets, they have by far been the best for me and many others I have spoken too.
