I've been reading a little bit more on horsies and the pair of kuda's I have are a pale yellow color. I read somewhere that the older horsies become a more brilliant orange/red ... is this true? How do the color morphs work? Do they get brighter with age?

Thoughts?

Thanks!

Joe.

Some recent studies (not sure who performed them, but somebody did it ;)) have shown that in most cases, color of seahorses is genetic. If they're born yellow, they'll generally stay yellow. If born red, generally they'll stay red (ok, not exactly true as they don't reach their final color until a few weeks after birth, but...). What they can do is change the darkness or lightness of that color in the long term. In the short term, they can flash different colors, but those bright colors generally won't stick around if the horse itself is not a bright horse. Know what I mean?
