Kalkwasser Doser's

I dont really know much about Kalkwasser Doser's, does anyone know of any articles on how they work or what they do?

In the average reef aquarium you don't need to auto-dose Kalkwasser, a drip will work. I do auto-dose my tank because I have a system that I can control the amount of dissolved CO2 in the water(45-55ml/l total CO2) and I use Kalkwasser as a buffer to maintain the PH at 8.2. I use a Metronics doseing pump that is control by a PH controler. There are some books, two you may look for is a Marine Chemistry by J. M. Gieskes "The Alkalinity-Total Carbon Dioxide System in seawater" or Edward D. Goldberg "Study of the Seas Vol.5"
