I came home from work and noticed my water in my tank is cloudy
and my xenia and lps corals not opened all the way. The xenia
fingers look like they shrunk in size.

No dead fish or inverterbrae.
Saw that cleaner shrimp had molted.
Fish were acting normal, eating etc.

I did a 25% water change and replaced my carbon.

Tank is 1 1/2 years old, 29 gal. 2" sand bed, live rock 250watt halide. All water paramaters were normal when I tested the water
last night. 0 nitrate, 8 ph, 0 ammonia, etc.
I have a maxima clam, did it release something into my water?

Keep doing water changes everyday?

Thanks:confused:

When I have this happen it is due to either snails or urchins spawning. The cloudiness is always gone by the next morning (they spawn a couple hours before lights off) due to skimming, carbon and I would imagine some of it being used for food.

What is your calcium levels. If they get to high it can make your water cloudy. Also if one of your pump were sturring up the sand bed that could do it also.

Don't think it was a powerhead, there were all hanging in their normal place. I did'nt check the calcium, but I'll check it tonight
depending how they look when I get home.

Update,
cleaner shrimp dead, nassarius having a feast.
I don't know when it molted yesterday if something happened
along with water.
Hammer is fully open, but frogspawn not open when normal.
Red sea xenia, fingers look like they are skinner than before.
Elongota looks almost normal.

Did another 5 gallon change.
