can some one help me with my high alkalinity problem? My water parameters are calcium 450, ph 8.45, alk 16, and nitrates& nitrites are @ 0. The test kit that I am using for the alk is the salifert kit I have ran the test twice with the same results. I am adding 30ml of b-ionic parts 1 and 2 once a week. If the b-ionic is the problem could somebody recommend another product to keep my ca and alk stable. thanks

cut back on the addition of the b-ionic for alkalinity, and if your adding buffer to your RO water cut back for a while, that should help bring it down.

As kozmo said, if you want the alk to fall, don't add the alk part of B-Ionic. Your Ca is looking plenty high, too, so you might just lay off the dosing for awhile and the numbers will creep back down. If you ever really want to lower alk, here's Randy's advice:
