i have two in my tank also. my lfs said they are "rock" starfish. mine are a little more white in color tho. anyone esle have any input?

Cheri Thanks Cheri. That link was very helpful. I currently do not have any corals so it's not a worry. From what I can tell, they are just munching on the coraline algae, but to be on the safe side, I may remove them since mine plan is eventually to get softies.

For what it is worth, I have lots (way too many to remove them all) of these little guys in my 180 gallon tank and have never seen any evidence (I've got SPS, LPS and softies) of coral predation by these stars. If you are concerned though, you'd best remove them while there are just a few. My experience has been that they multiply rapidly!
