Just curious if there are any wrasse species that are suitable for a 5.5 gal? Are there any that would need to upgrade in 6mos to a year that could live in a 5.5 temporary?

thanks,

I would not add ANY fish to a 5.5 if I were you. A small yellow clown goby would be an okay addition though.

I wouldn't even add a clown goby because despite their dimunitive size they aren't are hardy as they would seem. They seldom eat anything you personally add to the tank; at best maybe a cleaner shrimp and some hermits, but I wouldn't advocate fish for a tank that small.

I have a true perc.

He is a very happy fish, probably happier than any in my 55 at the moment :).

A cleaner wrasse would work 8)

BTW- checkout nano-reef.com

You do know how dismal the survival rate is for cleaner wrasses, correct? I would NEVER buy one.

Perhaps you meant cleaner GOBIES. Now that would be a much better choice.

nono, I know about the little wrasses.
I was just answering his question, I think its the only suitable wrasse, size-wise...... :)
Whenever someone comes into my shop and wants a cleaner wrasse, I usually convince them to get a cleaner shrimp instead. Thanks though!

Ive got a 10 gallon nano, with a perc and a mandarin and a cleaner shrimp, I am getting some hair algea and want to add a blenny or a teeny tiny tang..Im not sure what I should do, I think the tank is already crowded...but I know I can find tiny bi-color blennies, so what do you think I should do

I hope you are kidding about the mandarin in a 10 gallon. He'll starve in a matter of months ... if not less.
