I picked up a genx 6000 submersible pump last night. I paid $84 local. It does 6000L, or 1585gph. It seems to be pretty good quality too BTW. Much better than the viaAqua and CAP pumps I had previously. I am going to put it on a sqwd if I can pick one up cheap.

Ill let everyone knoiw how it works long term, if it does it is a good deal!

Aquatictech.com has them for $64 or so bucks, and they also carry the 8000LPH model.

Supposedly, the two smallest models are actually just the sedra pump lines FWIW.

John,

I've been looking at submersibles myself. If you get a chance, can you answer a few questions about the pump?

- Is it quiet?
- Have you noticed any measurable temperature increase?
- Do you happen to know the rough dimensions?
- Is it a 2- or 3-pronged plug?

Any info you can provide would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Lee

The noise is definateky there, though it is not overwhelming. I would say similar to any another pump with similar specs on the market (hold quite one)

My temperature has dropped 2 degrees F when I switched from a 1321GPH via aqua pump.

It is 3 pronged

It is roughly 6x5x3 inches.

John,

I also have been looking at submersibles pumps, quiet ones in particular, and was wondering how quiet the genx pump is compared to the via aquas.

Also, are those genx submersibles new?

Thanks for any info!
