I don't have any of them, but Jim Norris has 6 400W on his tank and they looked really nice. He said he was really happy w/ them.

I have a pair of 250w MH XM bulbs from Hellolights.com. I really like them. They produce a bright, crisp white light with a light tint of blue. I have some pic. My digital camera sucks. Hope this helps??

Typhon,
Are you running those on a standard MH ballast?
I was about to order a couple in the 400W version to run on my M59.

hey, i'm still running the 15k Hellolights H3 bulb since Oct. Still going strong and i will replace it in another few months. This bulb has a perfect balance of blue/white color, but I don't know if they still sell that bulb. They had some early ones blow in a few months. I have a new 10k Ushio on hand and a new 20K Hellolights. The 20k is a little too much blue for my taste. I may give the 20k a shot next. I'd also like to try the $40 10k from Pet Supply Liquidators.

Typhon -- how does the XDE bulb compare to the 400w radium? Which is more blue, intense/bright, and white?

I've got an Aquaspacelight with 2x250w 10k bulbs and was interested in these.

Hey bait,
Actually I am running the bulbs with IceCaps new 250w HQI Electronic Ballast.

DT's_Reef,
Actually I have never used the Radiums before, so i really can't tell you if they are more blue or not. I have used the 10K Ushio before and the XM bulbs do produce a good amount of blue compare to the just solid, crisp white of the Ushio. The blue gives the feeling of scuba diving because in nature after you pass about 8-10 feet of water the light become bluer. The effect is very visually pleasing. Can you tell the hint of blue in my pictures??

I've been running two 250 xm for about a week (on a Blueline Eballast), so far like them. I have a 400w radium in the middle. Radium is a little whiter, the xm is a bit more "actinic" but a very pleasing combination. Intensity is acceptable, certainly not quite as intense as a 400 HQI but pretty bright. Too soon to see how corals will react.

Lights are currently off, I'll try to post a pic at some point

Are they called XMS or XDE? The ones I saw were XDE.
