How long do you UV?

I am curious as to how long you run your uv sterilizers. I recently reinstalled my uv sterilizer. I was wondering if any of you only run your sterilizers when you introduce a new fish, partially each day, or 24/7?

As you will find, most people do not use UV sterilizers on their tanks. They are simply not needed, IMO. They do kill bacteria, however they kill the good guys as well as the bad guys. I have never run UV and I have never had a problem with disease.
