I'm now in the process of creating my seagrass tank. Have ordered 12 seagrass plants along with some inverts.

Tank specs are as follows:
40 gallon tank
~4 inch southdown sand bed
400w MH light

My goal with this tank is to create a realistic seagrass bed. Seagrass beds have an amazing amount of life in them, though the majority is invertebrates.

Can anyone recommend a species of fish that can be kept safely with seagrass that also has a small bioload?

Where did you order the sea grass from?

Go with another 1", another 2" if possible of the sand if you want to keep the sea grass thriving.

Low flow.

If you are dedicated, a pair of pipefish would make for a very interesting display.
