I was wondering what people keep there water Temp at. I see a lot of good looking reef tanks that exceed 80 degrees. Esp the tank of the month guy. His tank looks great. If that is the case then why do they sell Chillers? My tank stays at around 77 in winter and up to 84 in the summer. Any thoughts

I keep mine between 78 and 80 degrees. Great results with that.

84 is a bit high....to close to 86 and 90---run a clip on fan on your sump or tank---real simple

Put your hands about 6" from any Metal Halides- quite hot. Now times that by 3 for three bulbs. Then add some heat from your pumps. Also in California it gets quite hot in the summers. Thats why we need chillers out here.

My chiller kicks on at 84 degrees
