just curious if anyone puts things purposely boughten from fish store in their sump (crabs/fish/shrimp etc)...i think it would be cool to have a totally different type of habitat down there any suggestions or pictures??? thanx :strooper:

I have all kinds of things in my sump, non of which I put in there myself...they seem to find their way there over time....I have a small brittle star, a tonne of snails, slugs, pods, etc.

And if you think that is allot, you should see my refug :)...its more fun to watch at times than my tank

I know what you mean.
I tend to ignore my fish and focus on the free little creatures.

I have a 100 stock tank for a sump, actually a refugium that drains into the sump. Anyway, I have a bubble tip and two tomatoe clowns down there. I also put in some nassarious snails and a few hermits. It is cool having some live stock down there, but not too much, I want all of the critters to flourish!

I guess you were asking about a sump as opposed to a refugium, but anyway...
