Alge Cycleing From hair to dianoflag ?

I had a huge tank of hair a couple weeks ago. THen i got the 6-1 skimmer running on the 72

In 1 week this thing killed off all the hair alge in the tank. :D

Now i see what is dianoflag? it looks brown and slightly clumpy /w bubbles

Is this a good thing, or did i somehow take a turn for the worse? and what can i expect ? My tank is 4-5 months old but i had a prizm skimmer for the first 4.5 months so i dont know if i should count them in my tank-life ;o

Is this something that will pass - or should i do some huge water changes ?

It depends on the type of water you want to do those changes with.
Are you using water straight from the tap?
If so then that may very well be your problem.
Tap water 'can' contain a high amount of phosphates, nitrates and other yuckies.
Have you tested your tap water?

An RODI unit is always a good thing to have.
