I see that 6" (or 5.5") clearance is required for the AquaC Remora skimmer. I'm not sure if this is the clearance need to clean or that is how high above the tank it is.

I want to put one in, but I don't want it sticking up too high above my canopy.

Does anyone have one of these? How much above the tank is the top of the skimmer.

I just took some measurements on my Remora Pro. With the collection cup in its lowest position, the top of the cup is 6.75" above the top of the tank. To remove a full skimmer cup requires about 5.25" of more clearance.

NotAnHerb,
I have the standard Remora on my 55. It's 6-1/4" above the rim of the tank with the cup down to about 8" with the cup in its highest position. Mine is usually about 7" for normal skimming. To remove the cup requires a minimum of 10-3/4".

Thank you FishDaddy and gas4544. Exactly what I needed to know.

It will be sticking up around .75-2.50 inches behind my canopy. I need to now decide if I don't mind seeing it all the time...
