The shouldn't be. A cowrie is very different beast. By the way, Trochus and Nerite are also different beasts.

A cowrie is very nice looking snail. Some species are benefical herbivores but most will chomp on your corals or other animals. Two safe species according to Ron Shimek are Cypraea moneta (money cowrie) and Cypraea annulus (ring cowrie). US$ 10 is a little high, but not too bad.

Hi maroun.c,
Did you mean Trochus or Nerite snails? If it helps any, they are not the same thing. www.liveaquaria.com has nerite snails, trochus snails, tiger cowries, chestnut cowries, and eggshell cowries although they don't really have fantastic deals. ww.premiumaquatics.com has some good deals on snails but no trochus :-(. www.floridapets.com has nerite snails but no trochus. Good luck finding what you want!

HTH,
Kevin
