Royal Gramma somehow got into my overflow on my reef tank. I have tried catching him by net but have had no luck at all. Any ideals would be appreciated.

Is this on a Reef Ready tank? Or is it a hang-on overflow box?

Either way, shut the tank down "all the water flow" and use your net slowly bring it down on one side so he's on the other side, then just bring it towards him, get him, and slowly bring it up.

If it's a hang-on filter you'll probably have a harder time getting him out, just wait for him to come down the overflow pipe to the sump.

I had a Hawkfish, Mandarin and Chromis get stuck back there...they lived fine for a while and then I felt guilty and stopped the pumps, undid the plumbing and let them drain out the bottom....lots of work but worth it.

The tank is a 65g reef tank with built in overflow in the left hand rear corner. If I shut the pumps off will the water run out of the over flow? I hope that wasn't a stupid question :-)

It will probably go down into the sump unless you have a valve that can stop the water from coming down.
