Filtration for a FO

OK, So the wife wants to make the 26 bow into FO tank...

My question is for a FO is a Fluval 403 canister with LR & DSB good enough?

If so should I take out the Bio Balls? I plan on also having a power head in the tank for extra circulation. Is there anything else I should think about?

how about a skimmer?

I guess I could get a 5g or 10g in the stand and do a Mini-Sump in there with the heater and some kind of Skimmer..

Any other thoughts?

Or, add a skimmer and call it a done deal?
