Hello:

I will be moving to Orlando from Jacksonville within the next 2 weeks and I will definitely be joining ORCA. When I move, I am going to add a deep sand bed to my tank. I have heard that it is possible to buy good quality sand from some of the ORCA members. If anyone could help me out, I would greatly appreciate it.

Also, if anyone has any advice on the moving of my reef tank, please let me know. I need all the advice that I can get.

Thanks for the help, you can post or email me at rollsphantom@aol.com

Check with Doug Perry, an ORCA member. I was by his house this evening, he just got some live sand in last week. He gets it from a diver in Islamorada who brings it up from 90' about 7 miles out. Great stuff, lots of critters. He also gives a discount to club members.

Doug will be at the meeting next weekend, or you can contact him at (407) 340-1385. http://www.seainthecity.net.

Thanks for the info, I will definitely contact him.

I currently have a remote deep sand bed, but I have heard that it is not a beneficial to the system. It contains about 40 pounds of sand. Do you think that I should empty that sand into the main tank as well? I just don’t want to cause a spike.
