mixed clown species question

I bought two tiny clowns that were 'supposedly' both cinnamons. They were smal aqua-cultured and at the timne looked similar. Now I see that they are both melanopus, but only one is a true cinnamon. the other is possibly a 'red sea' . Will they pair up anyway? The larger one is starting to act dominate , which from what I can tell might be the 'female' thing to do.
I know clowns can cross breed in captivity, so I thought I would ask. I am attached to them both so getting rid of one is probably out of the question, I just want them to be happy. ;)
