I have a pair of Clarkii clowns and was told by the LFS that they would only host in a Sebae Anemone. Is this true? I would like to have something for them but dont have the experience or established tank that I read it takes for an anemone. are there any soft corals that are easier to care for that these guys might host in?

Clarki's are the sluts of the anemone fish world. They'll host in all ten pacific host anemones.

PS: There are many surrogate hosts for clowns and they certainly don't need an anemone.

I've seen them hosting in various leathers, frogspawn, xenia, mushrooms etc.

I have heard that anenomes do not need as much light as once thought. As long as they are feed enought food, they should thrive. If I am wrong please tell me. If this is the case, you should be able to have an anenome.

Turtleman, you've been led astray. They need strong lighting, should be fed regularily and have an experienced keeper looking after them.
