i was wondering if this is a good protien skimmer for a 55 gallon tank?

I don't think you'll get too many varied responses, but it would probably be better than nothing. IMHO, I'd only use a AquaC HOT or an Aquamedic HOT. If you have a sump, then you'll have more skimmer options, but I'd suggest you save the $70 and pass on that offer. There are a lot of reviews of these skimmers by doing a simple search for them...mostly unfavorable.

you keep asking the same questions over and over. there are some very knowlegable people that have tried to help and it seems as tho all is for nothing.
please try to take some of the posts to heart, as in a DSB (southdown or not). These are people that know what they are doing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What they said. If you have your heart set on a hang-on skimmer, consider the Remora Pro or the turboflotor.
