First online purchase

I'm happy reefer, FedEx just came with my first onlne purchase.

I’ve been drooling over the pictures of Ricordea and decided to order a couple online. So far a good experience, delivered on schedule, nicely packages(with a heat pak).

But I do have a question. When I opened one of the bags it had kind of a low tide smell, the other bag didn’t have any kind of “fishy� smell to it. Is this normal with corals that are shipped? The Ricordea looks fine, I decided to just use the water from the “clean� bag for the slow drip acclimation for both corals.

do a drip from your tank for them both. That will help them acclimate to your tank conditions.

I wanted that orange and peach:(

I ended up getting some blue ric and lime/orange ric. I hope they look a good in person as they looked on the website.

What I saw on the web site was just what I got, the Orange/Peach one was about the size of a quarter.

By the way that dead smell I noticed was something dark pink and fleshy on the rock (to the left of the Ricordea) I scraped most of it off using a toothbrush before placing it in the tank. I also noticed somethimg else on the rock that may be another critter that was cut off. I left it to see if it would grow into ??? We'll see.
