Some of my mushrooms have made there way up the rocks to where my sps corals are. I have cut them away but it only makes even more come back. They shade and or sting some of the bottoms of my hard corals. I have been told you can inject them with the A-side of the b-ionic?? anyone know a good way to kill them?? KILL KILL KILL (how often are people trying to kill thier corals??):mad2: :mad2:

Personally I think vinegar is the best thing to inject them with. Its great for al the pests like aiptasia, zoanthids, anemonia and shrooms.

Just curious, cuz i dunno, but will the vinegar kill other corals, if it gets in the water??? I am assuming not????

Let me know how this works!!

Thanks
Jason.

A high concentration of Kalk usually wipes these out for me. Do not simply add a high level of Kalk to the water. Instead add the high concentration of kalk to a syringe and inject each mushroom in the mouth of the mushroom.

Good luck!

I've use a blow torch for ones that are on rocks that I can remove. Does a great job, but smells a little funny.

Kalkwasser injections work too.
Vinegor is safe.

It's always good to pull a W/C and mop the remains afterwards... A little fresh GAC helps too...

I've always thought about using a laser

I have been using bleach, in very small qty's.....no more than 4ml's a night, and I always let 3 or 4 days pass before I do it again. It works ok, but nothing like being able to remove the rock completely and let it set dry for quite a while, or get out the torch like someone else mentioned.

I have been using some homemade Habenero vinegar two days for small and three for the larger aptasia and zoo's one hit for a shroom no problem, Aptasia depends on a direct hit, ya know what I mean. Later Jeff

Kalk injections work great, but it helps to only do a few at a time, and preferreably a few hours before a water change. siphon out the carcasses.

Why you just don't cut all of your unwanted shrooms and or other corals and send it to me, I'll pay for priority shipping. Thanks in advance.

I just utilize the natural powers of my torch and hammer corals. I have fragged a frogspawn a few times and have kept one or two small pieces and just move them around where the shrooms are and leave them for a few days. Works like a charm and I am not introducing any other substance into the tank. Works for me.

i've never tried it, but i heard that putting an ice cube on the base of the shroom will make it release...anyone tried this before?

Now that would be interesting. I may try that for the heck of it!

Question is, do I have to go and make a tray of RO/DI ice cubes?

At least in my case, these are rocks that already have established SPS colonies, or are HUGE pieces of rock, otherwise, I'd be more than happy to frag them off!

IME, hydnophora kills them pretty easily. i just cut a frag and put it next to mushrooms and it takes care of them pretty quick.
