A LPS is offering this package:
75 gal drilled tank w/v-top & return bar(all glass)
pine stand and canopy
4-lamp coralife vho kit w/lamps
sump w/little giant 2mdqx-sc in line pump
62#seafloor reef sand substrate
saltwater master test kit
2 50 gal bxs tropic marine salt
80 gal ro water

It looks like a pretty good deal to me, What do you think?????

Hmmmmmmmm, how much is it:) I don't know about the Coralife VHO's. I don't trust anuthing with the Coralife name on it.

Howdy,

IMO, you could find what you want cheaper by buying things individually via mail order. If you're starting a tank, I would suggest using a finer grain sand with just a little of the larger stuff on the top surface. I would recommend that you do some searches of this board for several topics including (but not limited to) sand, live rock, lighting, protein skimmer, etc.

Just my humble opinion, but even if the LFS is offering a good deal, I would read a lot before starting up the tank. IMO, most test kits offered in a "master package" really won't be necessary to keep a successful. To be honest, the only thing I ever test is alkalinity and calcium, and that's only because my tank is small and fluctuations occur quickly.

You will probably still have to order a tank through the LFS, but here are some places to look at for skimmers, lights, pumps, etc:
