Pizza sizes getting smaller or is just me

I remember long time ago when we used to order larg pizza from the same sources and they used to big alot bigger. Now large is what medium was those days and medium is what was personal pizza. I thought they are getting smaller and the prices the same.

i say smaller, which is probably not a bad thing considering all our asses are getting bigger....:lol:

I just had pizza & the place advertized the number of slices as 10, 12, &16 (smal, med, lg.). I noticed that there was not much size difference between med (12 slices) & lg (16) just more cuts in the pie. I think for the price difference, I'd just buy a medium & load up on the toppings!

I think it's the influence of the chains like Dominos and Pizza Hut, which have always sold pathetically small pies.
Here in Jersey we like the ol' fashioned BIG pizza, where you're hard-pressed to keep the slice from floppin' over when you hold it. Especially the by-the-slice places in NYC traditionally give you a BIG slice. If you gave a New Yorker a slice from one of those Domino's pies, you'd be wearing it!
Where I live, there's a place (Romano's) that regularly makes 24" pies, with giant boxes to take them in. You have to eat a skinny wedge just to manage it!

Theres a place that will make you a real nice 36 inche pizza if you want it.... its not on thier menue but if you ask you shall receive...after paying of course:)

I've yet to eat there so I don't know how the pizza is, a friend was just telling me about it infact then I see this thread...

Yup, I voted smaller. The wife and I used to split a medium, now it takes a large! It gets scarier though. I was looking at a picture of me standing next to my tank from 6 months ago and another one taken last night. Man, the tank has gotten smaller too! Do you think it's a conspiracy? Maybe something in the atmoshphere? Spooky I tell you.

hahahahah,,That is a different product we are talking about wizardgus and is called (too much beer):) :D If you have a picture of a large pizza years ago and a large pizza now next to your tank then that's what we are talking about. :) that's funny,, cause my scuba suit is getting smaller too and I don't know why and specially around the waist. :D

Yes.they have been gettin smaller and my *** has been gettin bigger. It is hard to find a "real pizza" in my area in my area so I make my own from ingrediaents that I purchase fresh from a Italian Deli. I will say that I do like Jets Pizza..and Mama Mias here in Union Lake Michigan makes a good pizza.

I'm a store manager for Doino's Pizza. I have to agree. Our pizzas have been the same size for more than 30 years, but they are patheticly small. The stores in San Antonio only offer medium and large. That would not be so bad except that the medium is 12" and the large is 14". A 12" pizza is a personal pizza, IMO. The biggest pizza that any Domino's store is ALLOWED to sell is the 16" EXTRA LARGE!! That sentence is so absurd I wish I was lying!

I remember a pizza place in a suburb south of Los Angeles, CA. They had/have pizzas up to 36" in diameter! That was about 15 years ago, so I don't know if they are still in business and I don't remember the name. THAT is an extra large pizza!
