I am setting up my new clown/anemone 29g tank and can't make up my mind. I already have a pair of black percs in my 12g and i also want a pair of regular percs. In the new tank i'll have a BTA. I wanna know if this will work out and who i should put in first. I was thinking that i should put the baby percs in first then the black percs because i should allow for the babies to get adjusted. I'd like to know your input on this. I have recommended agaisnt keeping different clown species but i can't resist and percs and ocellaris are very mellow. thanks

I dont think it will work out in a 29 gallon. The bigger of the pair will beat up the smaller and since the tank is only 29 gallons they will have no where to hide. However it sometimes works though.

1) What kind of lighting are you going to do?

2) I would not mix and match two clown species in a 29g.

i think that percula and ocellaris are very similar species. But, i guess i'll just go with one pair then.

David,

I have a pair of mated black ocellaris and 4 baby percs in my 12 gallon. Only the female gives them problems, and even then its just around feeding time to chase them away.

The babies were added after the black ocellaris have been in the tank for 6 months.
