My BTA is doing ok, but has an affinity for my reeftec, which of course concerns me. Any suggestions out there to avoid chopped anemone?

Perhaps you could move the powerhead? Or you could try using filter sponges, but, I don't know. :)

What is your water temp? It may be attracted to the warmth. Also that looks like (from the pic anyway) that the powerhead provides a horizontal surface close to the lighting. Maybe it is looking for more light as well....Just some thoughts, no expert here...

I'm in the process of adding more lighting, so if it's looking for more, maybe that'll help. I really don't want to move the reeftec.

How much lighting do you have now and what are you upgrading too? If its a big upgrade, make sure you shade the anemone for a while and cut the length of the day so it can adjust to the increased light.

The light upgrade is a gradual increase. I'm going from two T5HO's and a 96w PC, ultimately to 6 overdriven T5HO's. It's occuring in stages to avoid freaking anything out. Oh yeah, my water temp is 80.
