I currently have a 55gal reef with various soft corals and a beautiful green carpet anemone. I'm running (4) 95watt VHO's and just purchased a dual 175W MH ballast. I plan on running both the vho's and MH together. My question: Will this sudden change in light intensity shock my anemone? When I purchased it six months ago, it was under 40w bulbs at my lfs and "hid" from my VHO lights for 3 weeks. If this upgrade is going to put my anem into light shock, any suggestions on how to better acclimate it?

The jump in lights may stun your anemone but in the long run it will get used to it. Start out the first day with our regular lights on for a couple of hours and then turn on all of the lights for a couple of hours finishing the day with another couple of hours of your old lights again. Each day keep the new lights on longer untill they are on the desired amount of time. Maybe this will help.
