i was wondering if anyone could ID this clown. LFS called it a black perc. :rolleyes:

Looks like a clarki to me. I have one of them. They are nearly the same. Mine has been ripping my flame wrasse to pieces for the last 2 days and I have decided to take him back.

I am very sad cause the Clarki is a beautiful fish, but he is overprotecting the Rose and he has become totally a monster.

Any ideas on other clowns?

Hey Bruddah I was going to say also (forgot to say in e-mail) if the call it a "black perc" that's a common name for a saddleback (polymnus) clown.

even though black perc is the common name for the saddle back that looks like a clarkii to me

Yea Bruddah told me that the body is elongated like a polymnus or sebae's is. Anybody know where eco is?

And now that I look at it more it could be a clarkii, lol. Not sure.

It is not a Clarkii.

A. Sebae with a twist. Honestly it looks like a Sebae with unusual patterns.

It also resembles a saddlback but the coloration is off.

WHAT IF IT'S A HYBRID!!?!?! Quiet you.

Looks like clarkii to me I used to have a pair just like that about a year back pretty fish I think. Another reason I don't think its A. sebae is the second bar doesn't extend well onto the soft dorsan fin.

Yo J, tell Eco to come back just for this thread.

This fish is making me loose sleep.

No more Roper buddy, no more pictures in the signatures for anyone on reef central anymore.

Dang, now that's two things that are making me loose sleep.

Very nice clowns swaalop. True seabae's are truly beautiful and pretty hard to come by.

How do sebae's compare to clarkii's in aggressiveness? They look pretty close to the same but my clakii is very aggressive to other fish.

I know I'm way off but it most resembles the madagascar clown in the book clownfishes. These fish lack the last white band at the caudal fin.
