ESV 2part calcium additive has a good reputation among the reef community. I've been reading various posts of reefers that use it have a chronic high ph problem. If used in equal parts per the directions using ro water for top offs~I'm curious does the original formula tend to cause this high ph on a frequent basis.
I welcome all thoughts and comments of course yours, Randy!!!
Thanx Nakama

The original B-ionic is formulated primarily from carbonate, and can have a pH raising effect. In some cases, that is very beneficial. In a few tanks, the pH may get too high (especially if aeration is less than adequate).

There is also a bicarbonate version of B-ionic that does not raise pH, though it costs more:

Here's an article on solving pH problems:

Randy,

Where can I look for the bicarbonate version?None of the online vendors seems to carry it.

TIA.
