Yep another what it this? (Spongy toothpick)

It looks like a spongy toothpick with a slightly flared tip. It is 1 ¼� tall and looks to be growing out of a small pinkish sponge. I had seen one or two before and just thought it was some leftover from my cleaner shrimp molting.

Now the questions:

If this is coming from my sponge,
1. Is that good, bad or indifferent?
2. What is it purpose?

I have attached a picture; it’s in the back of the tank so it’s hard to get a good close-up. Circled in green is the spongy toothpick that looks to be growing out of a small pink sponge. Circled in blue is another small pink sponge on the same rock.

I appreciate any enlightenment that I can get.
