55 gal, bak pak2, slowly taking out bio-bale, 3-4"DSB, 90 lbs. LR
We've had Hair algea problems for a few months now. Haven't been able to get it straightened out. Back glass is like the front lawn. Here's test results just taken:

Amm.- 0
Nitrate- 20ppm
Ph- 8.2
Alk- 2.8meq/l
Sal.- 1.025
Temp.- 80
Phos.- .25 (pretty much always been)

Skimmers been pulling about a full cup a week.
4x65w PC's on timers running 12:30pm to 10:30pm
15 reef crabs, had turbos's.....they like to die

Fish might be a tad over stocked.......
1 yellow tang
1 tomato clown
1 Clarks clown
1 coral beauty
1 watchman goby
1 scooter blenny
3 green chromis
1 oscileris(?) Damsel

Feeding fish some flake everyday, none hit's the bottom. Mysis ever couple of days, some of the corals too. We're going to be getting them a better diet. All fish have been fine, no problems, ever.
Thinking of getting a hang on refugium.
Any Ideas? Need more info? Let me know. This algea problem is kind driving me mad. Thanks in advance for any help.

The nitrate and phosphate together could certainy cause an algae problem in any tank.

I'd recommend upping the export of nutrients. Better skimming and/or growth and harvesting of macroalgae would be my recommendation. Setting up a refugium would be the best bet, IMO.

Tossing the biobale is also a good step.

Here's an article that describes issues around phosphate, and some ways to bring it down (many of which willl also bring down nitrate).
