I have been working on many parts of the 125g project, my recent project is to finish the canopy. My question is should I run actinic supps with the current lighting setup? (2X400w 20K Radiums, and 1X400w 10K Ushio in the center). I will have 2 standard light fixtures for some night light effect, but was just curious about the actinic supplemental lighting.

Here are a couple Pics. :D

BTW: it's going over a 125g.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

It looks good to me. I run a 10K w/o actinic so I think you will be fine w/ your lighting setup. Of course everybody will have their own opinion what looks good.

Thanks for the input Texas.

Anybody else have suggestions? I know this is a loaded question and has been asked many time but I just need some input and maybe a few pics and to show what it looks like. I'll be running PFO HQI Ballast with the bulb config I mentioned above.

Thanks

Sorry Spsfreak, Can't help you with the lights but was curious about the 2 standard light fixtures. Do you have it connected to 1 plug? Great job on the canopy...

I would rotate the reflectors 90 degrees. wouldn't it give a little more light to the tank, and it won't blind you when you open the door to feed.

Nammy,
thanks for the comments ...... no the standards are not one one cord. I really didn't think about it at the time but now that you mentioned it I may just spice them together to save on outlets.

qtip2,
thanks for the input, I guess that I might get an eye full of MH when feeding if I'm not careful, but as for more lighting I think that the 1200w of MH lighting over the 125g is going to be more than ample enough lighting....again thanks for your input.:D :D

If you have the end caps you might as well install them and wire it up that way its done and you dont have to mess with it after on the tank I made blocks to lower them so thet are at the same level as the MH. I like the way actinic look the tank not so white.
