Should I be concerned with amonia or nitrite build up in the bucket I am using for treatment? I plan on doing about a 30% water change each day in preparation for additional doses of medication.

Container is a 5 gallon bucket containing 2 gallons of water. Contents of the bucket are a heater a small airstone and a coffee mug (new, unused hiding place for fish). Also, of course there is the fish, a 1.5" juvenile Ocellaris.

Thanks,

Brian

Get a sponge filter, the kind FW breeders of fish like. They can be rapidly loaded with bacteria by placing them under the substrate of an established tank and running them for a few hours. Till then I would suggest 50% water changes and some amquel or other ammonia detox product.
