It was recommended I use these for a stress coat & pre-treatment. Can they be used together when adding water? Can water, if RO/DI is used, not need to be treated with these 2 chemicals? How/where does Start Right fit into this?

I wouldn't add anything to the water. If you are using RO/DI water, all you need to add is salt.
