Southdown sand vs. others

I see all this talk of Southdown playsand. Living in Manhattan, it is really hard to find this stuff. Anyone found any in New York City? Also, what would be the difference if I just bought Nature's Ocean Marine White Sand Premium Marine Substrate or something similar from the local Petco or Pet Store?

Hi rsponder, I'm on the B'klyn/Qns border & was unable to find it in any of the NYC HD's. Another member sent me to Freeport LI where they had plenty. I think you'll have better luck at suburbian HD's. --Rob--
