OK I'll try to keep it short and not leave out anything. I recently converted a 10 year old FO tank to reef.

AquaClear Aquatics 75 Wet/Dry W/Rio 1700 Return
AquaC EV-120 W/Rio 2100
Filled on 12/27/02 with tap (first mistake), Added 60 lbs. Packaged LS and 5 damsels (second mistake)
On 12/29/02 added 26 lbs. LR
On 1/3/03 Added another 54 lbs. LR
My ammonia tests have been .25 from 12/30/02 until 1/9/03 now they are at .50. Nitrites always at 0. Nitrates always at 10.
Since I have had 5 damsels, 60 lbs of LS, and 26 lbs of LR for 2 weeks and a total of 80 lbs LR for the past week is it normal to have such low ammonia levels?
I am comparing this cycle to our FO cycle 10 years ago which, with only damsels then, showed a consisent ammonia rise after only a few days. Don't get me wrong, I have all the patience needed to cycle (besides it allows the wallet to recover!) but what should I expect this time with regards to ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate tests and timelines.
Any input or past experiences would be greatful.
