I just got a torbofloter 100 shipped in and I have a question regarding setup. The directions with this thing really stink.

does water intake tube need to be hooked up to the overflow or does the pump take the water from the sump only?

I am hoping that the pump is enough. If not I'll have to do some more plumbing

thanks

That skimmer uses 2 pumps, one to feed the skimmer, that goes on the end of that tube. The other is just for adding air to the skimmer. It probably came with a Rio pump for that purpose.
I'm currently running one of these skimmers, and I use a Maxi Jet to feed it.

I took the advice from someone who works for Aquamedic (SP?) and fed the skimmer from my overflow. It works much better for me now. Next, I will add an air pump to increase the air flow to the skimmer. Overall, I'm very happy with it - even though it is a bit small for my 90 gal.
