I finally finished it.
A 50 gallon long sump/refugium.
My tank sits in the dining room and the sump/fuge is on the otherside of the wall in the garage.

Here is the back of my tank with the single Sea-Swirl.

I couldn't post here so I put the whole thing up at reefs.org.
So go here to see what the heck I am babbling about. (http://reefs.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=188759#188759)

I don't think I'd want that fiberglass so close to my system. You might be better off with something else to hold the heat in.
I'm going to go delete some of your posts now so you look foolish celebrating your 2000 th post with only 1800 on your post count. ;)

NEVER!!!!!!! ;)

The top of the insulation is a good 3-4 inches from the top of the tank.
It will be good enough for tonite.
Tomorrow I am going to tape those sides up.

So Larry what do you think of my project?
And perhaps you could help me with something. My MR-1 is causing TONS of micro-bubbles.
I've done a search on it but cant find a good way to control bubbles coming from a skimmer.

Any advice there?

Thanks.

I'm surprised Sean, nthing to say about me knocking off a couple hundred of your posts??

Project is looking good! I've been following your trials and tribulation, just being quiet about it. If I had something to say, I'd chime in! I'm not one to be accused of biting my tongue ;)

Is that skimmer new? Could just be breaking in.
I picked up my LifeReef skimmer today, 3 feet tall and it really looks serious! I'm expecting all kinds of bubbles in my tank at first, that's the nature of the beast. If the skimmer's not new, what's different now, than the way it was set up at your old place?

I don't post all the time to get numbers, I post all the time because I don't know a damn thing. :)

Hey Larry,
FWIW...instead of my temp fluctuating to the mid-70's during the night, now with my sump wrapped in that insulation, my tank stayed at a constant 80.8. :)

DgenR8

Constant is good!
Now, are you going to heat that garage to keep your sump warm when it really gets cold out?? :p
