recovering from hair algae question

My hair algae seems to be receeding but my rocks are still covered in green. How long can I safely turn of my lights? Any body have suggestions on finally clearing this stuff up? I'm using kent Phosphate remover wich is helping but the stuff just won't go away. I have an RO system shipped due next week so I can quit going to the LFS for water. Is there such a thing as taking the rock out and lightly brushing it to get rid of the hair algae? thanks

Sure, you can brush the rock off, just make sure you use a new brush, one that has never been used with cleaning products.

What's your cleanup crew like? Adding some astrea or turbo snails may also help.
