tufa rock

Is tufa rock ok to use in a FO 55 gal. tank? Don't think I'm ready for LR yet, but maybe I am. Just wondering. THANKS!

I have no experience with it but from what I’ve read it should be fine. Why do you say you’re not ready for live rock?

I am learning more, so cognitively, I am probably more ready for live rock. There's also the Money factor, but I quickly learned after I started up my tank that you can't let money get in the way of developing a properly run marine tank.

You may want to consider a small amount of LR just to seed the tufa rock. The tufa will become live and begin to grow coraline aglae after a while.
