I am facing the tough decision about what lighting to get in my tank. I was deciding between 4 110W VHOs or 2 110W VHOs and 1 overdriven 36watt light 4x. I thought I had come to a decision on the 4 VHOs, but I was told that 96 watt PCs have double the intensity of a 110 W VHO. Is this true? I want to have LPS corals (eg mushrooms, colts, button polyps, xenia sp.)
I also am interested in keeping a H. Magnifica or a BTA for my pr of false percs. What kind of lighting would you suggest for these inhabitants?

PCs arent more efficient or brighter per watt than VHOs.

What size tank do you have.

I am going with the 46.5" VHO 4x110 watt's from www.Hellolights.com (on sale right now) for my 55gal

I have a 55 gal tank also. Is this too much light for the corals that I mentioned?

No this should not be to much light. I plan on going with about the same thing coral wise.

I was woundering if it would be enouph light for a Blue Clam if he was placed up high?
