I am currently shopping around for a 150w HQI pendant (using a double ended bulb) type light and was wondering if anyone had any advice on which brand to buy or to stay away from. I have seen brands like PFO, Aqualine bushke, and Reefstar. Also if I should go with a 10000K bulb or a 20000K bulb. The reason I ask the type of bulb is because I am not going to use any supplemental actinic lighting and want the color to be white enough.
Thank you for your time,
Michael

I would post this in the reef section, it will get more of a response. I have 150w MH retro from Hellolights.com. It cost me 231 shipped. Bulb, electronic ballast, wires, and socket. It was a really good deal. The bulb is a 20k radium, and is IMO Just right w/o actinics. I built the whole thing into an old pendent I had from PC lights. HTH.
