positioning it at 12oclock makes it burn the proper k temp

cool thanks
Also it may not fire properly if the nipple isn't up. (That sounded marginally obscene)

Hi everyone,
What if your nipple is not quite up?(boy that sounds bad)I have one that is straight up, and the other is at about 2 o'clock. Is that close enough, or should I try to move it ??

When you guys talk about the "nipple" do you mean that little dent in the glass of the bulb that is at the end that screws into the socket? I have a pair of 65k Iwasakis and I don't see anything protruding that could be considered a nipple.

Hey, FlameAngel. Here is a picture of the nipple: http://www.geocities.com/nmreich/images/comparemh/glassnipplepic.jpg
Here's a quote from Andy at IceCap about the nipple: "To avoid possible flickering problems, have the nipple pointing somewhere between the 9:00 and 3:00 position. If it points down, when you turn the lamp off the metals collect there and may cause flickering when it's turned back on."

Thanks Skipper - I wasn't looking inside the bulb. I see what you mean now.

What about on double ended bulbs...I have a 250W HQI bulb and there is a nipple that faces down...it seems you cant put the bulb in with the nipple up...anyone know about these?
