Seaclone and other modifications?

Has anyone attempted other modifications to this unit> (YA YA YA I know toss it and get a better one. Saving up ,y Canadian money for a better one) I am not much of a DIYer so will not take that router..

But my question is has anyone done anything other than shortening the tube? Like put on a different pump? putting in an airdiffuser inside the reaction chamber?

I shortened the inter tube and now the bubbles sometimes are a tad big.. It definately skims better than it did before. Just curious if anyone has attempted other modifcations to try and make this work even better. :)

Yep. I drilled a hole in the top of the collection cup, both the outer and the inner wall. Then I drilled/trimmed a hole in the lid where that lined up, so I could feed an airline tube through it and down into the bubble chamber. Plugged that hose into the airpump, and it pulled up better foam.

But the skimmer still sucks.

Ya I know it still sucks.. but when your trying to save for a better skimmer anything will do in the pinch :)
